Investment Associate
Maria Camila has over 6 years of experience in private equity and impact investment firms, focusing on investment thesis development, deal execution in the health and food sectors, and the creation of acceleration programs and vehicles for microfinance institutions. Additionally, she has 5+ years of entrepreneurial experience in the agri-food sector, developing ventures in healthy food vending and vertical farming.

As an Associate at ALIVE, Maria Camila focuses on identifying investment opportunities across our investment themes, conducting due diligence and structuring deals, as well as providing hands-on post-investment support for portfolio companies.
Before joining ALIVE, she was Senior Associate and Head of Value Creation at Amplo Inversión de Impacto, where she designed and led the Value Creation department, structuring acceleration programs, new business models, and strategic partnerships. She secured funding through Village Capital and SVX, enabling the launch of an acceleration program in alliance with Grupo Heincke, one of Colombia's largest organic panela exporters.
Previously, she worked as an Investment Associate at Patria Investments, the leading alternative asset manager in Latin America, where she specialized in private equity investments for 4+ years. She developed the investment thesis for the healthcare sector, investing more than US$350M in leading companies, and crafted the food sector thesis in Latin America. She led due diligence processes and worked on strategic deals.
Her entrepreneurial background includes founding The Garden Box, a healthy food vending machine company, and Root Top, a vertical farming venture focused on chemical-free produce. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Universidad de los Andes (Colombia) and completed an academic exchange at IE Business School (Spain). She was recognized by Colombia's Ministry of Education for achieving one of the highest national scores in the Saber Pro Exam (2018).
